Welcome

In recent years, access to health care, particularly primary care, has emerged as a major, and complex, obstacle to achieving improved health status. Healthcare reform will bring millions of persons now uninsured into the healthcare system. Many of these will be in communities with little existing primary care services. Many will be from minority and ethnic groups previously underserved. All will further burden a national primary care system that struggles to provide existing patients with quality primary care.

Primary care is a key component in the design of accountable care organizations, which are integral to plans to reduce the cost and improve the quality and patient- focus of health care services.

HSR's misson is to support the development and impact of reforms in these areas of health care delivery. We look forward to a health care system that lives up to the expectations of the American people.

Things we do

•Primary care delivery and financing.
•Federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and other community-based providers, including teaching health centers.
•Accountable care organizations, especially as they include teaching hospitals or FQHCs.
•Workforce development addressing primary care provider shortage, especially involving nursing expansion.
HSR partners with other consulting firms needing expertise and relationships in these areas.
